The Anchor Inn, Exebridge

Standing literally at the gateway to beautiful Exmoor, The Anchor Inn at Exebridge nestles next to the River Exe and offers a warm welcome to visitors and locals alike.

The 17th Century Anchor Inn has been a focal point on Exmoor for many years, with an unrivalled reputation for offering excellent dining, high quality Bed and Breakfast accommodation and the most stunning views along the River Exe and out towards the majestic moorland that surrounds it.

The Anchor Inn, Exebridge

Head Chef Dan Kings, winner of the TV Taste of the West 2004 competition, leads our professional and highly trained team. Dan sources all his ingredients from the West Country whenever possible and works with fresh produce in season - we aim to keep the food miles down as well as supporting local producers. The meat from our Sunday carvery is often sourced from John and Roberta's smallholding at Staple Cross. Fresh fish is always on the menu and is also from the West Country, with smokery delicacies being delivered from Exe Valley Smokery just a few hundred yards from the inn. Find out more from our own web-site link.

"People come from miles around to eat lunch or get supper from Jan and Dave's Bampton Fish Bar. We came all the way from America. The fish and chips is one of the greatest things about Bampton. We have been disappointed with all the other fish and chip shops we have tried. If you visit Bampton without getting some fish and chips you miss the best taste of the place (no pun intended!)" - Jim & Sylvia Ward
