A number of people, including the Council, have expressed an interest in setting up a town museum. However, at the present time no suitable location is available, and the matter of manpower and caring for valuable artifacts would have to be considered. Another possibility might be a 'virtual museum' based on the internet, either as part of this web-site or a separate entity. A good example of how this might be done has been set up by Winsham in Somerset. You can visit their virtual museum by clicking here. Of course, we have quite a comprehensive historical section on this web-site, but there are many more pictures or images of local objects which could be displayed. Currently (2012) the proposal has been made to house a Hertage Centre in the church, and a number of people have extressed interest, and a committee has been formed. Watch this space!
