Newspapers & Magazines |
Please keep separate from other materials, and flatten all cardboard. Plastic wrappers etc. should be discarded in your dustbin. |
Aluminium Foil |
Washed milk bottle tops, foil trays baking foil, etc. can be recycled, but not plastic such as crisp, coffee and pill packets. Try to screw the foil up - if it stays screwed up, it's aluminium foil. |
Glass |
All glass jars and bottles can be recycled - but remove lids or tops. Please return milk bottles to the milkman or shop to be reused. Pyrex and crystal glass cannot be recycled and need to go in the dustbin. recycling glass throughout the UK saves 15 million gallons of oil. |
Clothing & Textiles |
Please bag all clothing including handbags and paired shoes to keep them dry. |
Food & Drinks Cans |
Give all tins a good rinse out before leaving them in your box. They take up less space if you squash them too. Recycling one aluminium drink can save enough energy to run your TV for 3 hours! |
Polythene carrier bags |
These can be recycled and made into a variety of new plastic products such as traffic cones. |
Cardboard Drinks Cartons |
We are one of the first kerb-side recycling groups in the country to collaborate with the liquid foods carton manufacturers association in collecting cartons for recycling. Please drain and rinse all food and drinks containers. |
Note that we cannot recycle chemical or paint tins, screw tops from jars, all plastics (except plastic milk bottles and carrier bags), waxed paper, or scrap metal. Mid Devon Recycling Help Lines are on 01392-882388 and 01884-243200 |
