Recent Events:

  • The five churches in this Benefice (Bampton, Morebath, Clayhanger, Petton and Huntsham) were celebrated as a Mission Community by Bishop Bob, the Bishop of Crediton, on 31st January, 2010.  We are now known as the Hukeley Mission Community, and our Mission Action Plan is attached.
  • Some of us spent another super weekend at Lee Abbey.
  • We are holding a monthly Family Service (normally on the fourth Sunday morning each month).
  • We have started a coffee morning each Tuesday in church attended by grandparents, mums (and occasionally dads!) and young children.  Holidaymakers and other visitors often join us.
  • In 2009 we celebrated with many other Devon parishes in the events leading up to the 1100th anniversary of the Church in Devon.
  • We paid our Common Fund contribution for 2009 of £21,834 in full.
  • We held our first Christmas Tree Festival in 2009, and are planning another one this year from 10th-13th December commencing with a concert on Friday evening, 10th December and a Christmas Market on Saturday morning, 11th December.
  • The Church Fete held at Castle Grove on 26th June, 2010, raised the magnificent total of £1853.  However, income from our fund raising activities during 2009 was the lowest for many years and the PCC is considering ways in which we can encourage an increase in our regular giving.

Mission Action Plan:

The Mission Action Plan for the Hukely Mission Community (November 2009) can be downloaded here.

The church will be open for visitors between
 10.00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m. on Saturdays and 9.30 – 11.30 a.m. on Tuesdays except 26th June - please come to Church fete at Castle Grove instead!
