Scott's Quarry Photo Gallery

Scott's Quarry on the southern side of Bampton was the quarry which closed last, and the area of the old stone-crushing plant is being built over (2007) with houses.

We are indebted to Roy Strong for the loan of some of his photographs which show the scale of the operation, although admittedly the quarry works are shown here after closure, and not in their hey-day. You can see the usefulness of corrugated iron as a building material after the second world war!
