Bampton is a small and friendly town and very central
for many parts of Devon and Exmoor.
The 17th and 18th centuries saw Bampton become a very busy market trading
town with sheep and pony fairs etc. We still celebrate Bampton Fair day on
the last Thursday in October but without the ponies.
The Tarka Trail for cyclists runs nearby and most importantly we all share
in competing for the prettiest large village in the Britain in Bloom Competition.
