At the Toucan, we offer really good, homemade food using predominantly locally sourced produce. This has been proven by our success in the ‘Taste of the West’ scheme. Industry expert judges visited us anonymously looking at quality of food, service, ambience and evidence of local sourcing and in late 2010, we received two Silver Awards in the café/tea-room and restaurant categories. All of our food is made on the premises using the freshest ingredients. We are pleased to offer Devon Ruby Red Beef and the most gorgeous Clotted Cream, both from Weston's Farm on the edge of Bampton.
Our period building is full of character and its stone floor and wood burning fire help create a relaxed yet intimate atmosphere. Whether meeting up with friends, looking for somewhere for that special occasion or just passing through we can guarantee a memorable visit, with friendly, attentive service and tasty, well-cooked food.
During the day (Tuesday-Saturday), we open from 10am to 4pm for coffee, cakes, snacks, lunches and afternoon teas.
Real Devon Cream Teas – Our homemade Scones with Bampton Clotted Cream and Jam are a must for all visitors to the area.
Evening Meals - We serve Evening Meals on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm – booking is highly recommended as we are very popular with locals. Our unique combination of relaxed bistro ambience with first class friendly service and high quality restaurant food is appreciated by our many regulars. Our Evening Menu changes every week – see our website www.toucanrestaurant.co.uk for this week’s menu. You may also like to consider booking a table for one of our special events including themed food and wine evenings and live music.
The Toucan has been owned by Julia Mayer and Katrina Munro for the past four years and you’ll always find them on the premises, ensuring that standards are consistently high.
To make a booking, just phone or email us. |
