Bampton Charter Fair

Car Parking & Road Closures

There are additional road closures this year and both roads through Bampton - the B3227 (from the junction at Morebath Hill to the junction at West Street) and Brook Street/Briton Street are closed to through traffic on Fair Day from midnight Wednesday 28th until midnight Thursday 29th October and diversions will be signposted.

Car parking is available (£3) - the main car park is on the north side of the town at the recreation ground, and parking for the pony sales is off the Old Tiverton Road - both will be clearly signposted. Both car parks are run by volunteers and monies raised support Bampton Amateur Football Club, the Scouts and street entertainments at the Fair.

Disabled badge holders may prefer to use the Doctors' Surgery car-park in Barnhay

NB. Unfortunately we are unable to use Rex Serenger's private car park this year.

Please avoid parking within the road closures or on coned roads from 16.00 Wednesday 28th  to midnight Thursday 29th October 2009 and be advised that the police will be removing vehicles and issuing parking tickets. See also Fair Map

Return departs Bampton War Memorial 14.59 arrives Barnstaple 16.01

398 Tiverton - Minehead & return via Bampton (avoiding road closures)
(First Somerset & Avon Ltd) - usual timetable but allowances should be made for the road diversions.
The bus will arrive/depart Bampton War Memorial using road diversions via the Exeter Inn and Black Cat.
Return journeys are from Bampton War Memorial - please note the bus will be unable to stop at Bampton Post Office on Fair Day.
